Yulia Vakal

Yulia Vakal, PhD has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of quality assurance and software testing. Yulia has held various roles in different companies and organizations.

Yulia'smost recent position was as the Lead QA Engineer at Bango, starting in 2023. Prior to that, they worked at CluedIn from 2021 to 2023, where they held two roles, including QA Team Lead and QA Data Lead. In these positions, Yulia managed teams, defined testing strategies, and performed data analysis and performance testing.

Yulia also worked as a Lecturer at Code Space, LLC, teaching the course "ISTQB Advanced Level Test Analyst" from September to December 2021.

Before that, Yulia had a long tenure at Polecat Intelligence™, starting as a Software Tester in 2016 and eventually becoming the Lead Software Tester and Senior Software Test Engineer. Yulia was responsible for leading the testing process, creating test plans and reports, and developing QA artifacts.

Prior to their industry experience, Yulia worked as a Research Fellow and Assistant Professor at Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University. Yulia also pursued their PhD at the university from 2008 to 2011.

In addition, Yulia has experience as a Private Math Tutor from 2006 to 2015 and worked as a Software Test Automation Engineer at EPAM Systems from 2014 to 2015.

Yulia Vakal, PhD, earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Differential Equations from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in the years 2008-2011. Yulia also holds a Master's degree in Mathematics from the same university, earned from 2002-2008. In addition to their academic qualifications, Yulia has obtained various certifications, including ISTQB Certified Tester at the Advanced Level, IELTS with a score of 7.5, and Machine Learning from Coursera.
