Freddy Arévalo García

Freddy Arévalo García has a varied and extensive work experience. Freddy is currently working as the Director of Modern IT at Bantrab, where they are responsible for promoting innovation and implementing new technologies. Freddy has also served as a Professor at both Universidad Galileo and Universidad Francisco Marroquín, where they imparted their knowledge and expertise to students.

In terms of entrepreneurship, Freddy co-founded ICO Supplies in 2007, and later became a Blockchain Consultant at Centro de Arbitraje IBT. Additionally, they served as the Director and Co-founder of CGI - Corporación Guatemalteca de Inversiones. Freddy also gained experience as a Product Manager at Geko, overseeing a mobile payments processor. Prior to this role, they worked as a Product Manager at Pacifiko.com, a B2C ECommerce startup.

Earlier in their career, Freddy held the position of Director of Operations at Telconet Guatemala, where they were responsible for operational planning and regulatory compliance. Freddy also served as a Professor at Universidad Francisco Marroquín for a long period of time.

Throughout their career, Freddy has demonstrated expertise in technology and business management, as well as a passion for teaching and promoting innovation.

Freddy Arévalo García is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Digital Transformation of Finance at Universitat de Barcelona, which began in 2023 and is still in progress. Freddy previously graduated from Universidad Francisco Marroquín in 1996 with a degree in Computer Science. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Liceo Javier, where they obtained a High School Diploma in 1989. Freddy also attended Liceo Guatemala from 1979 to 1984, where they received their Middle School diploma.

In terms of certifications, Freddy has obtained various qualifications. In 2023, they obtained a Lean6Sigma White Belt from Lean6Sigma Solutions and completed the Startup Core Program through Founder Institute. In 2021, they earned a BlockChain Professional certification from the Global Trust Association. Furthermore, Freddy obtained certifications in Big Data Specialization, Graph Analytics for Big Data, Machine Learning With Big Data, Big Data Integration and Processing, and Big Data Modeling and Management Systems from the University of California San Diego. Freddy also holds certificates in Getting Started with Team Based Learning from TeamUSA, Introduction to Big Data from Coursera Course Certificates, Introduccion a Finanzas Empresariales from Universidad de los Andes, Critical Thinking in Global Challenges from UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH'S ONLINE, and An Introduction to Marketing from the University of Pennsylvania Online. Additionally, Freddy achieved the Project Management Professional PMP certification from the Project Management Institute in February 2007.
