Feras AbouGalala has had a varied work experience, beginning in 2001 when they were a Graduate Research Associate and Graduate Teaching Associate at The Ohio State University. In 2007, they became a Post-Doctoral Research Scholar / Lecturer at the University of California, Riverside. In 2013, they took on the role of Assistant Professor and Head & Coordinator of the Engineering Innovation program at the American University of the Middle East (AUM). In 2017, they were Department Chair and Professor, Electrical & Electronics Engineering at the Southern California Institute of Technology. From 2018-2023, they worked at Molex and Nistica as a Senior Optical Design Engineer and Technical Manager - Optical Module Group, respectively. Feras is currently working as a Principal Optical Process Engineer at Baraja.
Feras AbouGalala obtained their B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Qatar University in 2000. Feras then went on to The Ohio State University, where they earned their Masters in Electrical Engineering in 2003, followed by a PhD in Optics and Photonics in 2007. In 2012, they obtained three certifications from SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics: Design and Reliability of Photovoltaic Modules, Non-Imaging Optics, and Practical Optical System Design.
