Kwame Holmes is an accomplished scholar with a robust background in American History and Ethnic Studies. Currently serving as a Scholar in Residence at Bard College since September 2019, Kwame previously held the position of Assistant Professor of Ethnic Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2013 to January 2019. Additional academic experience includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Carnegie Mellon University (August 2014 - June 2015) and a Postdoctoral Fellow role at The Carter G. Woodson Institute for African American and African Studies from 2011 to 2013. Early professional experience includes an internship at the National Museum of American History in 2001. Kwame earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in American History from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2011.
