Robert Hou

Robert Hou, PhD, currently serves as a BI/DW Developer at Barfoot & Thompson, where involvement in AI, BI, and data warehouse development is central to operations within New Zealand's largest real estate firm. Prior experience includes a role as a Data Scientist at PredictHQ, focusing on machine learning and natural language processing for event data analysis, as well as teaching positions at the University of Otago, where Robert tutored undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Data Science and Machine Learning. Additional roles reflect Robert's expertise in machine learning and algorithm development, including work as an Algorithm Engineer at MoWeather and as an Intelligent Electronic & Data Engineer at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Robert Hou earned a PhD in Computer Sciences with a specialization in AI and Deep Learning from the University of Otago, along with a Master's degree in Signal and Information Processing from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Electronic and Information Engineering from Shanxi Normal University.
