Ashton Spillman is a Graduate Research Assistant at Barrow Neurological Institute, focusing on microglia-neuron interactions in Frontotemporal Dementia under the guidance of Dr. Rita Sattler since August 2022. Previously, Ashton completed laboratory rotations at The University of Texas at San Antonio, engaging in molecular neurobiology techniques from August 2021 to June 2022, and transferred to Arizona State University in 2022. Shortly before this, Ashton served as a Research Assistant at the University of Arizona from February 2019 to June 2021, working on a project related to the dynamics of thought and emotion and presenting findings at the Arizona Alzheimer's Consortium Conference. Additionally, Ashton has experience as a Preceptor in General Chemistry, facilitating student interaction and support. Currently pursuing a PhD in Neuroscience at Arizona State University, Ashton holds a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science from the University of Arizona.
