Kimberly Meyers, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Fellow for Basic Research at the Parkinson's Foundation, focusing on developing therapies for Parkinson's disease by investigating the neuroprotective effects of the enzyme ACMSD. Currently also working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Neurodegeneration at the Barrow Neurological Institute, Kimberly successfully secured $200,000 in grant funding for independent research on neurobiological mechanisms related to Parkinson's disease. Kimberly's academic journey includes a PhD in Neuroscience from Arizona State University and a background in Biochemistry from the University of Arizona, where research involved environmental and genetic factors in neuropsychiatric disorders, as well as investigations of enzyme behavior in biochemistry. Valedictorian of 2007 at Fountain Hills High School, Kimberly demonstrates a longstanding commitment to advancing neuroscience research.
