Brian Bentley is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as the Principal Vehicle Systems Engineer at BART since April 2012. In this role, Brian manages a team responsible for the design management, repair, testing, and evaluation of BART's new D/E passenger rail vehicles from Alstom, while also supporting the eLine diesel-powered light rail DMUs and overseeing the decommissioning of the older fleet. Prior to this, Brian held various engineering positions at CH2M HILL and Booz Allen Hamilton, providing consulting services to BART, LA Metro, and MBTA, focusing on vehicle overhauls, procurements, and engineering investigations. Brian's career began at MBTA as a Warranty Coordinator for the new Green Line Type 8 light rail vehicle project. Brian holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University.
