Saheli Chakraborty started their work experience in 2018 at Berkeley Lab as a Post Doctoral Research fellow. Saheli worked with Professor Nitash P. Balsara to develop solid polymer electrolytes for enabling lithium metal anodes. During this time, they gained experience in structure-property relationship, polymer dynamics and rheology, and ion transport properties of polymer membranes. In 2023, they joined BASQUEVOLT as an R&D Engineer.
Saheli Chakraborty received their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Presidency College in 2009. Saheli then went on to pursue a Master of Science degree at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) from 2009 to 2011. Finally, they completed their education at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Polymer Chemistry from 2011 to 2018.

Basquevolt is a developer of solid-state lithium batteries for electric vehicles, heavy transport, renewable energy, and electronic devices. The company's technology will enable the widespread use of electric vehicles, stationary energy storage, and advanced portable devices. Its solid-state batteries have an advantage over liquid batteries inthat they are more efficient, have a longer life, and require less wear and tear when charging.Basquevolt aims to develop the best materials and battery cells in a sustainable manner to enable mass deployment of electric transportation, stationary energy storage (including hybridization with hydrogen-gas systems), and advanced portable devices.
