Kevin Hilman has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Kevin is currently working at BayLibre, where they are a co-founder and CTO since January 2023. Prior to that, they were also a co-founder and senior engineer at BayLibre from January 2016 to March 2023.
Before joining BayLibre, Kevin worked at Linaro as a senior Linux kernel developer from February 2013 to January 2016. Kevin was involved in kernel development, contributing and maintaining various aspects of the Linux kernel. Kevin was also a part of the Power Management Working Group and served as the maintainer of the Linaro Stable Kernel.
Kevin also had their own venture called Deep Root Systems, where they were the owner and principal engineer from July 2008 to January 2016.
In addition, Kevin worked at Texas Instruments as a senior Linux kernel developer from January 2011 to November 2012. Kevin was responsible for kernel development and related projects.
Prior to that, Kevin had a role as a senior software engineer at MontaVista Software, Inc. from August 2005 to July 2008. Kevin focused on Linux kernel development for embedded systems and led the development of power management solutions. Kevin actively contributed to community linux kernel projects as well.
Kevin started their career at Texas Instruments as a senior software engineer from December 2003 to July 2005.
Kevin began their career in the technology industry at Equator Technologies as a senior software engineer, where they worked from 1996 to 2003.
Throughout their work experience, Kevin has gained expertise in Linux kernel development, power management, and embedded systems.
Kevin Hilman attended the University of Minnesota Duluth from 1992 to 1996, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering. Kevin then pursued further education at the University of Washington from 1997 to 1999, completing a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Image and video processing.
