Philippe Theus has a diverse and extensive work experience in the banking and financial sector. Philippe is currently serving as the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) at Byblos Bank Europe since March 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Bank ABC for a decade, where they held the positions of Data Protection Project Manager and Group Head of Operational Risk Management. Before joining Bank ABC, Philippe worked at KBC Group as the Director Risk Management, where they were responsible for the global implementation of frameworks for managing non-financial risks. Their career at KBC Bank spans over several roles, including General Manager of KBC Hong Kong Branch, Senior Area Manager in Hong Kong, Senior Relationship Manager in Corporate Banking, Managing Director of Kredietbank International Finance NV in the Netherlands Antilles, and Senior Legal Advisor.
Philippe Theus attended Ghent University from 1977 to 1981, where they pursued a degree in Political and Social Sciences. Philippe then continued their education at Ghent University from 1979 to 1984, obtaining a degree in Law. Their specialization within the field of law was Economic and Financial Law.
