Dr. Eleanor Shember is the Head of Outreach, Education and Communications at BBMRI-ERIC, a European research infrastructure for biobanking. With experience in digital projects as a Content Creator and as a Senior Lecturer in Multimedia Journalism at Manchester Metropolitan University, Dr. Eleanor has also served as a Councillor for Tameside Council and as a Project Co-ordinator for Radio Regen. Dr. Eleanor holds a PhD in Radio, media, communications, ethnicity, identity, and communities, as well as a BSc (Hons) in Information & Communications from The Manchester Metropolitan University.

BBMRI-ERIC is a European Research Infrastructure for biobanking and biomolecular resources, providing services to the biobanking community in the following areas: -Ethical, Legal and Societal Issues (ELSI) -Quality Management -IT (including the BBMRI-ERIC Directory of samples & data and Negotiator tool) - Biobanking Development Co-funded by the European Commission within the Research Infrastructures programme of Horizon 2020, we have 23 member states and 1 international organization, making us one of the largest research infrastructures in the biomedical sciences. Our vision is to further build and strengthen value-added sustainable biobanking for all stakeholders, enabling academia and industry to make new treatments possible.
