Jens K. Habermann is currently serving as the Director General of BBMRI-ERIC, a European Research Infrastructure Consortium that facilitates access to samples and data for high-quality research in Life Sciences. Previously, Jens K. held the position of Professor for Translational Surgical Oncology and Biobanking at Universität zu Lübeck, where Jens K. focused on optimizing individualized medicine by studying genomic instability in cancer. Habermann has also served as President of the European, Middle Eastern & African Society for Biopreservation and Biobanking and worked as a Board Certified Human Geneticist at Ambulanzzentrum des UKSH gGmbH MVZ Lübeck. Their research career includes a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Cancer Institute and a Ph.D. from the Karolinska institutet.
