Eilis Desmond is a seasoned project manager currently employed at BC SPCA since May 2023, following a successful tenure at Santos Dumont from May 2016 to April 2023, where Eilis held roles as Technical Project Manager and Technical Analyst. In these positions, Eilis created detailed project plans and managed various technical consultancy projects while overseeing documentation for aircraft engine models. Eilis also gained experience as an engineering intern at Santos Dumont and a technical intern at Shannon Engine Support Ltd. Eilis holds a Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Limerick, a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Diploma in Project Management from Dublin Business School. Eilis has further pursued education in areas such as data analysis, energy systems, climate change, and intelligent energy systems through various online modules and certificates from esteemed institutions, including University College Dublin, Delft University of Technology, and The University of Edinburgh.

The BC SPCA was established over 120 years ago and we continue to grow stronger every year. We are a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Today we have 44 locations throughout BC providing a wide range of services and programs to help more than 45,000 animals in distress and in need each year. The BC SPCA was created under the auspices of the provincial Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and is the only animal welfare organization in B.C. which has the authority to enforce laws relating to animal cruelty and to prepare cases for Crown Counsel for the prosecution of individuals who inflict suffering on animals.
