Vanessa Lee, CFRE, is a seasoned professional in philanthropy and resource development, currently serving as Senior Officer, Philanthropy at BC SPCA since May 2024. Previously, Vanessa held the position of Manager, Resource Development & Stewardship at Veterinarians without Borders / Vétérinaires sans frontières – Canada from July 2022 to May 2024, and returned to BC SPCA in various roles, including Senior Officer and Officer of Philanthropy from October 2017 to July 2022. Vanessa's earlier experience includes serving as Development Coordinator at St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation and a Development Intern at Georgian College. Vanessa also taught English to ESL students at Sahmyook Elementary School and worked as a Research Assistant for the City of Brantford. Vanessa earned a Bachelor's Degree in Health Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University and pursued education at Georgian College between 2013 and 2014.

The BC SPCA was established over 120 years ago and we continue to grow stronger every year. We are a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Today we have 44 locations throughout BC providing a wide range of services and programs to help more than 45,000 animals in distress and in need each year. The BC SPCA was created under the auspices of the provincial Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and is the only animal welfare organization in B.C. which has the authority to enforce laws relating to animal cruelty and to prepare cases for Crown Counsel for the prosecution of individuals who inflict suffering on animals.
