Laura Forseille has a strong background in the legal field, with their most recent position being as a Legal Counsel at BC Financial Services Authority since July 2022. Prior to that, they worked at ICBC (Insurance Corporation of British Columbia) as a Legal Counsel from January 2021 to July 2022. Laura also has experience as an Associate at Grant Kovacs Norell from June 2017 to January 2021 and as an Articling Student at Campbell, Burton & McMullan LLP from June 2016 to May 2017. Laura's work experience also includes being a Research Assistant at the University of Saskatchewan College of Law from September 2013 to April 2016, where they focused on researching topics such as the duty to consult First Nations in natural resource contexts and the constitutional protection of Aboriginal rights.
Laura Forseille completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations at The University of British Columbia from 2007 to 2011. Laura then pursued their Bachelor of Computer Science in Integrated Computer Science at the same university from 2011 to 2012. Following this, Laura went on to obtain their Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in Law from the University of Saskatchewan, studying from 2013 to 2016.
