Steven Wright

Steven Wright has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Steven began their career in 1981 as an Economist at Fisheries and Oceans Canada, where they worked until 2000. Following this, they served as the Director of Economic Programs at Fisheries Renewal BC in 2000. Steven then returned to Fisheries and Oceans Canada, holding various roles such as Director of Resource Management from 2003 to 2008. In 2009, they joined the Department of Fisheries and Oceans as the Area Director for the South Coast. Later that same year, they transitioned to Environment Canada, where they held positions such as Regional Director of Environmental Protection Operations Directorate and Regional Director of Canadian Wildlife Service. In 2011, they became the DFO Lead for the Cohen Commission of Inquiry. In 2013, they joined Environment Canada again as the Regional Director of Environmental Protection Operations Directorate. Most recently, they were a self-employed Consultant from 2016 until their current position as a Senior Policy Analyst at BC Financial Services Authority in 2020.
