Caglar Somek is a seasoned financial professional with extensive experience in investment management and portfolio management, specializing in global emerging and frontier markets. Currently serving as Portfolio Manager for Global Emerging Markets at BCI since July 2021, Caglar co-launched BCI’s first Active EM Equity Fund, achieving close to C$2 billion in assets under management. Prior roles include Senior VP and Portfolio Manager at TimesSquare Capital Management, where Caglar focused on concentrated small and mid-cap equities, and Partner, Chief Investment Officer at Caravel Management LLC, managing various emerging markets portfolios. Caglar's earlier experience includes positions at Goldman Sachs, ClearBridge Investments, Credit Suisse, and Stern Stewart & Co., with a strong foundation in fundamental analysis and financial modeling. Caglar holds an MA in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis International Business School and a Magistere de Banque Finance Assurance from Université Paris Dauphine.
