Prior to that, they worked at Parlee McLaws LLP from 2001 to 2005 as a Lawyer in the Corporate and Securities practice groups, where they advised on securities transactions, corporate formations, and various legal agreements.

Michael Mercier received their Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree in Finance, General from The University of Lethbridge between 1993 and 1997. Michael then pursued a Doctor of Law (JD) degree at the University of Alberta from 1999 to 2001.
