Belton ISD

Belton ISD’s mission is to provide an education that challenges every student to excel. Located in Bell County, the district’s boundaries encompass 198.6 square miles including Belton, Morgan’s Point Resort and part of Temple. In 2015, the district and all of its campuses received the Texas Education Agency’s highest accountability rating (met standard) based on student performance on the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness. The Texas Education Agency also awarded the district’s schools received a total of 28 distinctions in seven areas based on their performance compared to similar campuses around the state. Belton ISD’s campuses have also received national recognition. Belton High School has been included on lists of the nation’s best high schools compiled by US News & World Report and Newsweek. Belton New Tech High School @Waskow is a demonstration site for the New Tech Network. Belton New Tech High School @Waskow and South Belton Middle School have been recognized as Apple Distinguished Schools for their implementation of the district’s one-to-one digital learning initiative. Belton ISD’s one-to-one initiative increases student engagement and connects students to numerous resources that enrich the learning process. The district began deploying devices (either iPads or MacBook Pros) to students at South Belton Middle School and Belton New Tech High School @Waskow in 2011. Belton High School was added in 2012 and Lake Belton Middle School in 2013. With the addition of North Belton Middle School in 2014, every secondary campus is a one-to-one learning environment.
