Steve Sachman has extensive experience in private debt investing and investment banking. Steve started their career at Kidder Peabody & Co. in 1993 as an Associate in Investment Banking. Steve then moved to Smith Barney in 1995, where they worked as a Vice President in Investment Banking. In 1997, they joined Deutsche Bank Securities as a Managing Director. In 2006, they began working at BlackRock-US Private Capital Group as a Managing Director, specializing in principal private debt investing in middle market companies. Steve provided direct lending solutions including second-lien, mezzanine, and unitranche financings. In 2018, they joined Benefit Street Partners as a Managing Director in their Private Debt group, where they manage direct lending transactions with borrowers and intermediaries. Steve specializes in unitranche, first lien, and second lien structures.

Steve Sachman completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy Studies at the University of Chicago from 1985 to 1989. Steve then pursued further education at NYU Stern School of Business, where they obtained their MBA in Finance from 1991 to 1993.
