Joyce J. Elam

Dr. Elam is an award-winning educator and dean emerita of the College of Business at Florida International University. Prior to holding this status, she served for 15 years as the dean and James L. Knight Eminent Scholar in Management Information Systems at FIU’s Center of Business. Before joining FIU, Joyce was an associate professor in the McCombs College of Business at the University of Texas and an assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. Throughout her career, Joyce has been recognized for her work advancing women leaders and as an expert in the strategic use of information technology to support decision-making. Dr. Elam was a Marvin Bower Fellow at the Harvard Business School and earned both her PhD in Operations Research and her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Texas. She has served on the board of trustees since 2013.
