Caroline Anne McKeon is a Physical Chemistry Graduate Student Researcher, Instructor, and PhD Graduate Student at Berkeley Lab and the University of California, Berkeley since January 2025. Previously, Caroline served as Chief Scientific Officer and Co-Founder at Alga Biosciences from May 2021 to December 2024. Caroline's academic experience includes positions as a Graduate Student Researcher and Instructor at UC Berkeley and Berkeley Lab from July 2019 to May 2022, as well as roles as a Technical Solutions Engineer at Epic and Academic Grader and Teaching Assistant at Haverford College. Caroline’s research focuses on computational first-principles Density Functional Theory methods, bridging condensed matter physics and quantum chemistry, under the guidance of Principal Investigator Jeffrey Neaton. Caroline holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Scientific Computing from Haverford College and has participated in Y Combinator's W22 program.
