Conductor Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra at Berklee College of Music

Julius P. Williams is an accomplished conductor and educator with extensive experience in the field of music. Currently serving as Co-Chair of the Conductors Constituency Committee at the League of American Orchestras since September 2021, Williams also holds the position of Cover Conductor with the Boston Pops and Boston Symphony Orchestra since June 2018. As a Professor and Conductor of the Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra at Berklee College of Music since September 1995, Williams has significantly contributed to music education. In addition, Williams has been the Music Director of Trilogy An Opera Company since January 2005. Previously, Williams held leadership roles with the Conductors Guild Inc., serving as President from January 2018 to January 2023 and currently as Immediate Past President. Williams also earned recognition as a Composer for the Boston Symphony Orchestra's Residency Composers Project from November 2018 to November 2020. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Conducting from the University of Hartford, a Bachelor of Science in Music Theory and Composition from Lehman College, and an honorary Doctorate of Arts from Keene State College.
