Ruben Duran

Ruben Duran is a seasoned public agency attorney with extensive experience providing general and special counsel transactional services to public entities. Currently serving as a Partner at Best Best & Krieger LLP since May 2015, Ruben Duran holds a significant leadership role as Chair of the Board of Trustees for the State Bar of California since September 2021. Previous positions include Partner at Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP, where representation included the Oxnard Harbor District and its Board of Harbor Commissioners, and Principal at Meyers Nave, serving as City Attorney for Desert Hot Springs and General Counsel for the Fontana Unified School District. Early career experience encompasses roles as Associate at several law firms and as Deputy City Attorney for the City of Hayward, along with a Public Affairs Fellowship at Coro Southern California.
