Erik Darby

VP, Business Development at BetterUp

Erik serves as BetterUp’s Vice President, Business Development responsible for overseeing the growth and development of BetterUp’s Alliances, Partnerships, and Ecosystem. Erik joined BetterUp upon the acquisition of Motive Software, a Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing company focused on identifying emotional and behavioral insights in multi-channel data, where he served as co-founder.

Prior to Motive, Erik held executive leadership roles at UKG, where he last served as Sr. Director, Global Sales and Business Development, focused on scaling UKG’s employee engagement and talent solutions across UKG’s 7,000 global customers.

Erik joined UKG, upon the acquisition of Kanjoya, an enterprise employee engagement platform that developed Natural Language Processing technologies to understand employee feedback, where he served as EVP & co-founder.

Erik began his career in finance, leading Oil Service & Energy equity and debt investments for multi-billion dollar investment funds, Seneca Capital Management and Bel Air Investments. Erik earned a B.S. in Economics and an M.B.A from Pepperdine University.
