Clarissa Fontes has a diverse background in research and academia. Clarissa currently works as a Carbon Rating Scientist at BeZero Carbon since 2023. Following this, from 2010 to 2012, they attended the Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia (INPA) to earn a Master's degree in the Science of Tropical Forest. Their educational journey continued at the University of California, Berkeley, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Integrative Biology from 2013 to 2019.
