Michelle Allwood

Michelle Allwood is an experienced professional in the film and media industry, currently serving as the Public Programme & Audiences Coordinator at the British Film Institute since June 2021. Michelle is responsible for diary management of the Executive Director, stakeholder liaison, and coordination of team meetings and away days. Previously, roles included Inclusion Coordinator and International Fund & Co-productions Coordinator, where responsibilities involved assessing applications for UK filmmakers and liaising with international film festivals. Other experience encompasses project management and editorial roles at BBC Studios, BBC News, and BBC World Service, as well as independent writing and project development. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Creative Writing from Birkbeck, University of London, and a BA in English Literature from The Open University.
