Masaru Sakamoto

Mas has over 36 years of experience in general management, sales, strategic planning and business development, corporate venture capital, and early stage investments and incubation, with particular focus on US and Japan.

He has held various executive positions both in Japan and the US during his career at NEC, including the creation and management of one of the first Japanese incubators in Silicon Valley which became a Harvard Business School case study. He has been on the board of The Enterprise Network (a NASA funded incubator), The Open Group (a UNIX standardizationentity), Vidient (a spin out of NEC in video surveillance), and Niteo Partners.

He is currently on the board of advisors to various startups and Japanese companies, and a mentor at business incubators both in the US and Japan.

Mas holds a BA in Economics from Keio University and an MBA from Harvard University.
