Peter Collett

Peter Collett is a seasoned geologist with extensive experience in exploration and project management within the mining industry. Currently serving as Principal Geologist at BHP since May 2023, Peter previously held roles at OZ Minerals, including Senior Exploration Geologist for the Musgrave project from April 2019 to present, and various positions from April 2010 to December 2016, such as Project Exploration Geologist and Acting Country Manager. Before that, Peter worked as a Senior Exploration Geologist at Cassini Resources Ltd and held positions with Sandfire Resources NL, Ballarat Goldfields - Lihir Gold, Tri Origin Minerals, and Rio Tinto Exploration. Peter holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Geology from The Australian National University and a Diploma of Applied Science in Geoscience from the Canberra Institute of Technology.
