SUNY Distinguished Professor Of Engineering at Binghamton University

Mark D. Poliks is a highly accomplished academic and industry professional with extensive experience in engineering and materials science. Currently serving as a SUNY Distinguished Professor and Empire Innovation Professor of Engineering at Binghamton University since January 1992, Poliks focuses on systems science and industrial engineering, particularly in areas such as electronics packaging, flexible hybrid electronics, and roll-to-roll manufacturing. Poliks is also the Director of the Center for Advanced Microelectronics Manufacturing, contributing to advancements in microelectronics technology. Prior to this, Poliks held leadership roles in research and development at Endicott Interconnect and served as a Senior Technical Manager at IBM Corporation, specializing in dielectric materials and advanced manufacturing processes. Poliks earned a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering from the University of Connecticut and has a postdoctoral fellowship in Chemistry/Materials Science from Washington University in St. Louis.
