Patrícia Terra Alves

Patrícia Terra Alves, PhD, currently serves as a Field Application Specialist at Bio-Rad Laboratories since April 2022. Prior to this role, Patrícia was a Scientific Researcher at Universidade Federal de São Paulo from August 2018 to April 2022, focusing on gene therapy and cell therapy, including pioneering genome editing techniques and collaborating with international research groups. During this period, projects included developing advanced therapies for hindlimb ischemia and cell therapies derived from stem cells. Patrícia also has experience as a Scientific Researcher at The University of Edinburgh, where work involved creating macrophage-based cell therapies using CRISPR/Cas9 technology. As a PhD candidate at the Nanobiotechnology Laboratory, research concentrated on biomolecule development for sepsis, leading to the establishment of communication between researchers and medical professionals to improve patient outcomes. Education includes a Post-Doctorate from The University of Edinburgh and a Doctorate in Genetics and Biochemistry from Universidade Federal de Uberlândia.
