Xiangdong Meng is a senior scientist at Bio-Rad Laboratories since August 2011, focusing on reagents R & D with expertise in ChIP-Seq, reagent formulation, qPCR, and NGS, among others, and holds three US patents. Prior to Bio-Rad, Meng worked as a scientist at Sangamo, where work involved engineering zinc finger proteins for genome editing to enhance neuroprotection in a Parkinson's disease model. Meng's career also includes a postdoctoral position at UMass Medical School, where development of a bacterial one-hybrid system and gene knockout techniques were significant achievements, resulting in one US patent. Early experience as a visiting scientist at Cornell University involved identifying host receptor proteins and engagement as an invited speaker. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Plant Physiology and Biochemistry from Zhejiang University and a BS/MS in Horticultural Science from Shandong Agricultural University.
