Ernesto Lowy

Ernesto Lowy is an experienced bioinformatician with a comprehensive background in bioinformatics operations, data analysis, and software development across various prestigious institutions. Currently a Senior Bioinformatician at Biofidelity since January 2022, Ernesto provides critical support for pipeline implementation and somatic variant identification. Prior roles include Senior Scientific Programmer at the European Bioinformatics Institute, where Ernesto developed multiple NGS data analysis pipelines, and Head of the Bioinformatics Core at the Center for Genomic Regulation, where management of bioinformatics workflows and training were key responsibilities. With a PhD in Immunogenetics and an MSc in Biostatistics, Ernesto has a strong academic foundation in molecular biology and bioinformatics, complemented by extensive project experience ranging from genome annotation to large-scale epigenomics data analysis.
