Associate Director, Clinical Operations at biomea fusion

Rima Sakhapara has a diverse work experience in the clinical operations field. Rima began their career in 2010 as a Clinical Research Associate at Veeda Clinical Research. Rima then joined PneumRx, Inc. as a Clinical Affairs Coordinator for a few months before moving to Genentech as a Clinical Trial Associate in 2014. In 2015, Rima joined Pharmacyclics, an AbbVie Company, where they held various roles including Sr. Clinical Trials Assistant, Clinical Research Associate I and II, Sr. Clinical Research Associate, and finally, Clinical Trial Manager. Rima worked at Pharmacyclics until 2021 when they joined Summit Therapeutics as a Senior Clinical Trial Manager. Currently, Rima is employed at Biomea Fusion, where they hold the position of Senior Clinical Program Manager and will be promoted to Associate Director, Clinical Operations in January 2023.

Rima Sakhapara completed a Certificate Program in Clinical Trials Design and Management from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2013-2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biochemistry from Nirma University in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, from 2008 to 2010. Rima also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biotechnology, Genetics, and Biochemistry from Bangalore University, completed from 2005 to 2008. Furthermore, Rima has additional certifications from Coursera in areas such as data management for clinical research, vaccine trials, design and interpretation of clinical trials, and improving Asian American participation in cancer clinical trials.
