Pau Vila Cases has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Pau first worked at B.Braun Biotech, now Sartorius-Stedim BioTech, from 1989 to 1992 as a Technical-Sales & Product Specialist. Pau then moved on to the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Biochemical Eng. Dept.-ETSE) in 1993, where they worked in the Fermentation Pilot Plant until 2002. Pau then joined BioSystems SA, where they held the role of BioProcess & Production Engineering from 2002 to 2007. Pau briefly worked at Telstar Group in 2007 as a Biotechnology & Biosafety expert. Pau returned to BioSystems SA in 2008 and worked in International Operations until 2017. Finally, Pau became the dep MD & Sales and Marketing Director at Biosystems S.A. from 2017 to 2018 and later became the CEO from October 2018.
Pau Vila Cases has a strong educational background in Biological Sciences. Pau obtained their Bachelor Degree in Biological Sciences from Universitat de Barcelona between 1983 and 1989. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona from 1992 to 1993, specializing in Recombinant Protein Production in High-Cell Density Cultures of Escherichia coli in bioreactors. Pau further expanded their knowledge and expertise by completing their Ph.D. in Biological Sciences at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona from 1994 to 2001. Their doctoral research focused on the field of Metabolic engineering of Escherichia coli cells for enhanced recombinant protein production.
