Sarah Hussain has a diverse work experience starting with their current role as a Research Assistant at bit.bio, where they contribute to the development of a scalable technology platform for reprogramming stem cells. Prior to that, they worked at Immunocore as an Associate Scientist in Cell Biology for six years. Their earliest work experience was at Allpets Veterinary, where they served as a Receptionist and Veterinary Assistant for one year.

Sarah Hussain completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biomedical Sciences from Brunel University London from 2012 to 2015. In addition to their degree, they obtained several certifications including: Research and human tissue legislation (Human Tissue Act 2004 and Human Tissue (Scotland) Act 2006) from the Medical Research Council in September 2018, Phlebotomy level 3 from OCN Credit4Learning in February 2016, First aid at work from St John Ambulance in January 2019, and Fire Marshal from Swan Fire Ltd in February 2019. Sarah also holds an Open water scuba diving license from PADI. Sarah does not have specific dates for obtaining the Sports Leader - UK level 1 award.
