David Afonso has a strong background in quality assurance engineering and testing. David is currently employed as the Head of QA Automation at BIZAY since July 2023. Before joining BIZAY, David worked at Apiax from January 2022 to July 2023, where they served as the Head of Quality Assurance Engineering. Prior to that, they were a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer at Apiax from July 2019 to July 2022. David's experience also includes a role as a Senior QA Engineer at Celfocus from January 2014 to July 2019, where they were responsible for team management, test strategy design, test execution, and defect tracking. David worked in both waterfall and agile/DevOps methodologies. Furthermore, David started their career as a Testing Consultant at Novabase from May 2012 to January 2014.
David Afonso obtained a Master's degree in Engenharia Biomédica from Universidade do Minho, completing their studies from 2006 to 2011. Prior to their Master's degree, they attended Escola Secundária Henrique Medina in Esposende. In terms of additional certifications, David Afonso obtained a CMAP© Mobile App Testing - Foundation Level certification from the ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualifications Board in December 2014. David also holds a Testing & Quality Assurance - ISTQB Certified Tester certification, although the specific date of obtaining this certification is unknown.
