The role

 We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Front-End Engineer with significant React expertise to lead the development of high-performance user interfaces. This individual will play a key role in defining technical architecture, ensuring adherence to engineering best practices, and mentoring junior team members. The successful candidate will be instrumental in upholding our standards of code quality, reliability, and user experience excellence.

• Architect and Develop Complex Front-Ends: Design and implement modular, scalable front-end architectures using React (16+), React Hooks, and state management libraries (e.g., Redux).
• Performance Optimization: Profile and optimize code to deliver sub-second load times and consistently smooth interactions under varying levels of data intensity.
• Code Quality and Standards: Establish and maintain stringent coding standards, conduct in-depth code reviews, and ensure comprehensive test coverage across unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Advanced Front-End Patterns and Tooling: Utilize advanced React patterns, server-side rendering (e.g., Next.js), code splitting, and micro-frontend methodologies. Optimize build processes through modern tooling such as Webpack, Rollup, or Vite.
• Design-to-Development Translation: Convert high-fidelity Figma designs into pixel-perfect, responsive UI components. Integrate design tokens, spacing systems, and style guides directly from Figma, ensuring visual consistency and seamless collaboration with UX/UI designers.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with UX/UI designers, product managers, and backend engineers to translate complex requirements into intuitive and aesthetically refined interfaces.
• Accessibility and Internationalization: Implement WCAG-compliant features and semantic HTML, ensuring the interface is fully accessible and prepared for global audiences.
• Continuous Improvement and Technical Leadership: Stay informed on emerging trends within the React ecosystem, propose strategic enhancements, drive continual improvements in our development processes, and provide mentorship to enhance the skill sets of the broader front-end team.

About you
The ideal candidate will have a track-record in delivering results in a fast-moving business and hence be comfortable with change and uncertainty. Excellent stakeholder management experience is essential to being successful in this role.

Qualifications

• Extensive React Experience: A minimum of 5+ years in front-end engineering, including 3+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying React applications at scale.
• Expert-Level JavaScript/TypeScript Skills: Proficiency in modern ES6+ features, TypeScript, asynchronous programming patterns, and up-to-date JavaScript language improvements.
• Comprehensive Front-End Knowledge: Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, responsive design principles, and familiarity with CSS-in-JS solutions (e.g., styled-components) or utility-first frameworks (e.g., Tailwind CSS).
• Performance and Optimization Track Record: Demonstrated ability to deliver highly performant UIs, effectively diagnose performance issues, and implement solutions that maintain optimal responsiveness.
• Testing and Quality Assurance: Proficient with testing frameworks such as Jest, Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright, with a strong understanding of testing strategies and their integration into the development lifecycle.
• Strong Communication and Leadership: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and leading front-end projects.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Next.js and Server-Side Rendering (SSR):

Experience with Next.js for enhanced performance, SEO optimizations, and improved developer experience.

• Micro-Frontends and Module Federation:

Knowledge of micro-frontend architectures and Webpack Module Federation for scaling and decoupling complex applications.

• Design Systems and Component Libraries:

Experience contributing to or building design systems, integrating Figma component libraries, and automating the import of design specifications into code.
