Alejandro Lavernia, Ph.D., currently serves as Engineering Project Manager and Sr. Staff Engineer at Bloom Energy, leading the development of next-generation solid-oxide electrolyzers. With experience as a Graduate Student Researcher at the National Fuel Cell Research Center, Alejandro designed and operated a solid oxide fuel cell combined with absorption chillers for data centers. Additional roles include Systems Engineer Consultant at Hydroplane, Thermal Systems Engineer Intern at TAE Technologies, and Research Assistant at Herrick Laboratories. Alejandro holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from UC Irvine, a Master of Science from Purdue University, and a Bachelor of Science from both Purdue University and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Training in engineering leadership has been pursued through MIT Professional Education.
