Simon Watts

Simon Watts is a seasoned Senior Software Engineer with extensive experience in high-performance and high-assurance systems across multiple domains, including finance and defense. Currently at Bloomberg since October 2018, Simon previously held positions at BGC Partners, where involvement in HFT development showcased adaptability to new terminologies within the financial sector. Prior roles include Project Technical Authority at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, leading projects for the Advanced Mission Planning Aid, and serving as Lead Software Engineer at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems on a globally recognized C4I system. Early career experience includes software development for high-Tesla MRI systems at Marconi Medical Systems and a senior scientist role at DERA, the UK's principal science and technology organization. Simon holds an MSc in Astronomical Technology from The University of Edinburgh and a BSc in Physics with Astrophysics from The University of Manchester.
