Lucian Newman

Lucian Newman, III, currently serves as the Chief Medical Informatics Officer at Nuance Communications, specializing in Surgical CAPD and AI for documentation since July 2019. In addition, Lucian has been the Chairman of the physician advisory board at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama since January 2012 and a General Surgeon at The Surgery Clinic since July 1993, with a focus on minimally invasive techniques in private practice. Prior experience includes serving as Chief Medical Officer and Founder of Vincari from January 2005 to July 2019. Lucian's educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine from UAB Medical School (1988), a General Surgery Residency at Georgia Baptist Medical Center-Atlanta (1993), and bachelor's degrees in Biology, History, and English from The University of Alabama (1984).
