Lance Holland

Lance Holland is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in external manufacturing operations, particularly in the biotechnology sector. Currently serving as Senior Director and Head of External Drug Product Manufacturing at bluebird bio, Lance oversees manufacturing operations for plasmid, viral vector, and drug product CMOs across the US and EU, implementing strategic partnerships to enhance processes and quality. Prior roles at bluebird bio included managing the lovo-cel program and leading teams to ensure production and quality control measures. Previous experience includes significant positions at Shire, where Lance was instrumental in implementing Lean management and leading continuous improvement efforts, as well as serving as an adjunct professor at Quincy College. A graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in Zoology, Lance has cultivated a strong foundation in manufacturing science and technology since beginning a career in the industry at Lonza.
