Richard Colvin is an accomplished medical professional with extensive experience in clinical development and research. Currently serving as Chief Medical Officer and Head of R&D at bluebird bio since October 2018, Richard has also held senior roles in clinical development and research related to severe genetic diseases. Additionally, Richard has been a physician at Massachusetts General Hospital since June 2007. Prior experience includes a significant tenure at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, where Richard rose to the position of Executive Director and Senior Translational Medicine Expert. Richard's foundational training includes a MD and PhD from Duke University and a BS in Genetics from Cornell University.
