Dexter Wong

Software Development Engineer at Bluetooth SIG

Dexter Wong has a strong work experience in software engineering. Dexter started their career at DLS Testworks as a Software Engineer, where they designed and developed test software to ensure requirements were met. Dexter also created multi-thread software for consistent file storage and maintained comprehensive documentation and test procedures.

Dexter then joined Nortel Networks as a Software Engineer, where they developed software to multiplex lower rate SONET data into a higher rate SONET data pipe. Dexter worked closely with brand management to design software feature specifications that would generate the most revenue. Dexter'sresponsibilities also included designing and managing lower rate data pipes.

Dexter later worked at Flextronics as a Software Engineer, where they designed and developed a Multi-node Management feature. This feature allowed a single shelf node to control multiple shelf nodes, resulting in significant cost savings and a more manageable network.

At Moviebeam, Dexter served as a Software Engineer and was responsible for designing and implementing a secure and reliable content delivery system. Dexter utilized multicast over UDP and added new POSIX threads to handle communication, disk I/O, buffer handling, and parser engine. The system featured retransmission and high throughput capabilities.

Currently, Dexter is working at Bluetooth SIG as a Software Development Engineer. Here, they have designed and developed validation tools based on Bluetooth Specification. Dexter also created a modularized framework to reduce redundancy and complexity in the internal components. Additionally, Dexter restructured the software, leading to significant improvements in its quality and stability.

Dexter Wong completed a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering (Computer Option) from The University of British Columbia. Dexter attended the university from 1993 to 1999.
