Azra Nakicevic

Azra Nakicevic is a Trustee at Bluffton University. Azra has over 17 years of experience in tax and has previously worked as a Tax Senior Manager at both GBQ Partners and Deloitte.

Azra has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to tax, with a strong focus in real estate industry. Azra is able to provide an active consulting role to clients in choice of entity, complex income and loss allocations, troubled debt restructuring, like kind exchanges, tax credits, involuntary conversions and structuring related to merger and acquisitions of businesses.

At Deloitte, Azra was responsible for marketplace activities to generate growth that included winning new business and growing revenue on existing clients. Azra would also proactively assist clients in aligning tax planning with business strategies; using the institutional knowledge of the client’s business and objectives to generate and implement tax saving ideas.

Azra is also experienced in handling dispute resolution with taxing authorities, including private letter rulings. In addition, they have given presentations at seminars sponsored by CPA and tax organizations.

Azra Nakicevic studied accounting and business administration at Bluffton University. After graduation, they worked in the accounting department of a large corporation. Azra eventually became the chief financial officer of the company.
