Øyvind Hjelle

Øyvind Hjelle has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Øyvind is currently serving as the Chief Scientific Programmer at Bluware since May 2019. Prior to this, they worked as the Chief Scientific Programmer at Kalkulo AS, which is part of the Simula Research Laboratory, from 2005 to 2019. Øyvind has also held the position of Associate Professor at the University of Oslo's Department of Informatics from 2000 to 2010. In addition, they worked as a Guest Researcher & Research Scientist at Simula Research Laboratory from 2002 to 2005. Before that, they had a long tenure at SINTEF Applied Mathematics, serving as a Research Scientist, Senior Research Scientist, and eventually as a Research Director from 1985 to 2005. Their earlier career includes working as a Technical Consultant at Norconsult & Siv. ing. Elliot Stømme AS from 1981 to 1985.

Øyvind Hjelle has pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mathematical Modelling & Scientific Computing at Delft University of Technology. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), although the field of study is not specified. Additionally, Øyvind has studied Mathematics, Numerics, Information Technology, and Pedagogy at the University of Oslo (UiO).
