Danny Taing has over 10 years of experience in business development, marketing, and executive roles. In 2015, they founded and became the CEO of Bokksu, a New York and Tokyo-based D2C company that delivers authentic Japanese food and lifestyle products to customers around the world. Prior to that, Taing worked at Rakuten from 2010-2015 as a Business Development Associate, where they led and contributed to small teams handling domestic and international business alliance projects. From 2008-2010, they worked at Google as an AdWords Account Strategist, where they developed and executed high-impact marketing strategies for advertisers' AdWords accounts, increased advertiser conversion rates, and managed a book of business of over 15 high-potential clients.
Danny Taing has a diverse educational background. Danny obtained a Master of Arts in Sociology from Stanford University in 2008. Danny then pursued a Postbaccalaureate in Computer Science from Columbia University in 2013 and 2014. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Communication from Stanford University in 2007. In 2013, they also obtained a CLD in Chinese Language from National Taiwan University. In 2009 and 2010, they obtained a Bekka in Japanese from Waseda University. Additionally, they obtained a Japanese-Language Proficiency Test Level N1 from The Japan Foundation in June 2010.

Founded by Danny Taing in 2015, the New York and Tokyo-based D2C company partners with traditional makers throughout Japan to share their craft with over 100 countries via its snack subscription service, curated market of premium lifestyle goods, and online Asian grocery store.
