Matt Barnes

Matt Barnes is a highly skilled Senior Composite Design Engineer at BOLD, with experience since August 2023 in F1 projects involving composite component and tooling design for chassis, bodywork, and various other automotive parts. Previously, Matt Barnes served as the Head of Design & Robotics at Dash from May 2018 to July 2023, leading composite chassis design using CATIA V5 and managing a team to support high-volume composite production. Additional roles at Dash included Project Engineer and Design Engineer, focusing on electric sportscar concepts and GT3 car design. Early career experiences include engineering training at Dash-CAE and work as an Undergraduate Design Engineer at Millbrook Proving Ground, contributing to electric vehicle and hydrogen range extender projects. Matt Barnes holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Automotive Engineering from Oxford Brookes University, obtained in 2018.
