David Huffstetler has extensive work experience in the engineering industry. David began their career as a Transmission Engineer at Electrical Consulting Engineers, Inc. in 1991, where they worked until 1996. David then joined Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation as the Director of Plant Development, a position they held for six years. In 2002, they joined Booth & Associates, LLC as a Senior Project Manager, and eventually worked their way up to Vice President and Senior Vice President.

David Huffstetler attended The Citadel from 1984 to 1988, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. David also pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at The Citadel. Prior to their college education, David attended Hibriten High School, but no specific information is given regarding their degree or field of study at that institution.
